Meet our Summer FCA Interns!!!! We will be featuring each of them once a week! This week's Intern is............ CALEB SUMMEY!
Caleb is full of Joy and so on fire for Jesus! He is so excited for the work he is getting to do for FCA this summer! He is helping with our Summer Nights program, leading summer huddles and attending some of our staff meetings! Caleb is learning what it looks like and feels like to be a leader in ministry and what God's plans are for his life! I asked Caleb for some fun facts about him to share with our social media family! Here is what he told me!
1. What is an interesting fact about you?
An interesting fact about me is that I am going to college for track and field!
2. Share a funny story about yourself-
"Back in 2020 my Uncle was renovation his house so he could move. And I was down at his house helping him out. We were just about done for the day and started messing around. I was cleaning up and we were playing with dogs. And I was running around with a broom and clotheslined myself on the door!" 😂
3. How long have you been a part of FCA?
I've been a part of FCA since high school. Some of my friends started going and I have been on leadership all three years. I've been watching it grow for the past few years and now I've graduated and I feel like I need to do more. I thought this internship would help me grow and improve my relationship with God and help me become more outgoing. And Jacob told me about this, and I thought it would be a great opportunity!
Welcome Caleb to the FCA family! We are so happy to have you and can't wait to watch you grow!

Week 1 is in the books! 📚📝
Today, our interns and student leaders kicked off our 8-week Theology & Leadership class with Theology 101. We explored what theology is, why it matters, and how knowing God more deeply shapes the way we lead, serve, and live.
We’re excited to see this group grow in both knowledge and faith throughout the summer. 🙌
“For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift— not from works, so that no one can boast.” — Ephesians 2:8-9

This weekend we got to celebrate the incredible volunteers who make Aurora FCA possible with a Volunteer Thank You BBQ! 🌭🔥
Amazing men and women have served over 1,100 hours this school year across 17 schools — showing up for students, leading huddles, mentoring athletes, praying for coaches, serving at events, and pointing people to Jesus every step of the way.
Aurora FCA simply would not be the same without them. We are beyond grateful for every hour, every conversation, every prayer, and every act of service.
Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus in our schools and community. ❤️

Happy Mother’s Day from Aurora FCA! 💐
Today we celebrate and honor all the moms, grandmas, mentors, and mother figures who lead with love, faith, strength, and sacrifice. Thank you for the countless ways you encourage and impact the next generation.
Luke 1:45 “Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!”
19 And he said, “O man greatly loved fear not, peace be with you; be strong and of good courage.” And as he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, “Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.”
Courage. This is a word we hear a lot. Have you ever been in a situation where you knew that having courage, being brave was going to be the only way to get through? A moment where you were asked to do something that was out of your comfort zone? A situation that you never dreamed you would find yourself in. This is what happened with Daniel in the Bible. Daniel served a King who was scared of God, he didn't want anyone to be worshipped more than he was. So, he made it a law that people who were caught praying to God and not worshipping him would be thrown into the Lion's den. Daniel was a man of God, and he wasn't going to stop worshiping and praying to God no matter what. This alone took great courage; he stood up against the law in the name of his faith. Daniel was then thrown into the Lions den. This was for sure a space he never envisioned himself in. A den of hungry lions. Daniel kept his faith, his courage, and he prayed and God rescued him. Those lions didn't touch him.
This week take courage. Face the lions in your life with the faith that God will get you through no matter what the challenge is.
Now on the first day of Unleavened Bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Where will you have us prepare for you to eat the Passover?" He said, "Go into the city to a certain man and say to him, 'The Teacher says, My time is at hand. I will keep the Passover at your house with my disciples.'" And the disciples did as Jesus had directed them, and they prepared the Passover. When it was evening, he reclined at table with the twelve. And as they were eating, he said, "Truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me." And they were very sorrowful and began to say to him one after another, "Is it I, Lord?" He answered, "He who has dipped his hand in the dish with me will betray me. The Son of Man goes as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man if he had not been born." Judas, who would betray him, answered, "Is it I, Rabbi?" He said to him, "You have said so."
Today us Maunday Thursday. On this day Jesus had the last meal with his disciples before he was arrested. Jesus sat down with the 12 friends who had been by his side throughout his whole ministry. These friends were with him through all the miracles, teachings, travel, and conversations. This means they were together for all major moments. On this night they all gathered together and ate a meal together. This is one of the best things we can do together as followers, eat a meal and spend time together. Gather around a table. The disciples sat and I like to picture that they laughed and talked and remembered. It was most likely also a heavy time; they could tell something was up and something was coming but they weren't sure what it was. Jesus gave them hope and showed love even knowing what was coming. This day and into tomorrow take some time to gather with your friends and loved ones.
Join us for our first Clays Classic Fundraiser! Coming on June 19th, 2026! This is going to be a fun time to shoot some clays and spend time together outside! We would love to see you there! Get a group together and register today! We are also looking for sponsors for this event! If you have any interest, please email Meghan Seib Mseib@fca.org for more information!
"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."
— 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Gratitude is one of the most healing and wonderful things we can do for ourselves. Ever had a moment where you felt like there was nothing to be thankful for. A time in your life where it felt like nothing was going right? And you hear people say that we should be thankful no matter what? I understand how hard that is. God calls us to give thanks in all circumstances. It's so easy to do when all our circumstances are great! When we got onto the team, got the good grades, got asked out by that one person, we are getting along with friends, family and everyone. But we are called to all circumstances! How do we find gratitude when there is a breakup, you fail the test, you are fighting with your parents, homework is piling up.... I could go on and on. God says these are the moments when giving thanks is so important. Find a quiet space a few moments to sit down with God and talk with him about all that is happening. Make your gratitude that you have a loving God to speak to.
This week I challenge you to find three things a day that you can show gratitude for. They can be small, and watch how God calms your heart even on the hardest days.
Ecclesiastes 3:1- "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens."
The changing of seasons brings on a lot of different things and can bring on a lot of different emotions. Each season comes with new weather and new appearances. Spring is one that is exciting and can also feel sad and even stressful. Spring means new growth, new life, and it also means the end of chapters for some. Spring means Graduation, Prom, ending of school years. While these are all exciting, they also can feel scary and unknown. God teaches in Ecclesiastes that there is a time for everything. This means that everything you are doing now, everything you have done and everything you will do God has made a special time in your life for! So, while new beginnings feel uncertain and even scary, know that the creator of the heavens and the earth created this new beginning just for you!
“Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him” (Philippians 2:12–13 NLT).
Growth is something we all strive for in so many areas. When we are younger, we want to be taller. We all had that goal height, that one person who we wanted to pass up someday or be the same height. It was a life goal! We all have wanted to grow in our skills. Whether that be sports, music, academics, we all have wanted growth in those areas. All of this growth required work to get to the goal. In order to grow taller, you needed to be healthy and eat foods that helped you grow and made you a healthier person. Sure, we maybe didn't all reach 6 feet, but we did grow. Being a better athlete, or student or musician all required hard work every day to reach your goals for those skills. Spiritual growth is the same way. God desires for you to grow spiritually. Spiritual growth means you have a closer and more abundant relationship with God. This takes work. Growing spiritually either happens for you or it doesn't. Just like being a strong athlete, you can't do that overnight with no work. A strong relationship with God means you need to want to work for it. Reading your Bible, serving at church, talking to your friends about your faith, all these things will strengthen your spiritual muscles!
"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” — 2 Timothy 1:7
Fear. Even the word can stir things inside of us. Fear can look like a lot of different things for people. Fear can be sweaty palms, racing heartbeat, freezing, all kinds of things. The enemy wants fear to be something that we allow to take over us. He wants to use your fears and false words to affect everything you do. Your grades, your performance during a game, even your friendships and relationships. The enemy comes to seek and destroy. But God does not give us a spirit of fear. God brings power and love to our lives. When you feel afraid or those false words in your head come creeping in remember those are not from God, and he has given you the power to overcome the fear and rise up in his power and love for your life!

Isaiah 26:3 "You keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you."
Peace sometimes can feel like an impossible thing to achieve right? How do we feel peace, accept peace, even bring peace? So many of us spend time seeking peace or trying to figure out how it feels to be peaceful. Take a moment and stop trying so hard. In Isaiah God lays it out for us, Peace is perfect when our mind is on him. Peace is not something we can check off the list. Peace can be in every space. The loud scary spaces, the quiet spaces, even the spaces that feel like everything is falling apart. Peace is there because we have Jesus. When our minds and our hearts are fixed on him the Prince of Peace, our peace that passes all understanding, then that is when we find true peace. So spend some time today looking to God, the peace is there.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 "Two are better than one… If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.”
This verse can be referring to a lot of things. Relationships, Marriage, friendships. Today we are talking about friendship. Have you ever had that friend that when they are around everything is just better? They always know how to lift your spirits, can tell when you are upset about something before anyone else, and just knows everything about you? Those are the types of friends that God has placed into your life for a reason. The kind of friends that push you to be better, that show you Jesus in their everyday lives. These friends that make life better. God wants these friendships for you. The kind that helps you turn towards him and not away from him. Seek these friendships out.
Psalm 40:1 says, "I waited patiently for Lord, he turned to me and heard my cry." How many times have you prayed and then waited, and it seemed like nothing was happening? This can feel so confusing and even frustrating at times. It is always hard to remember that God's timing is perfect in everything. His timing in the outcome of a competition, the outcome of a test, the outcome of some bad news or even good news. It is easy to be patient for something that we feel like we can control. I am reminded of the song New Wine, and the line is "in the crushing, in the pressing, you are making new wine." This is saying that God is making you new and making wonderful things happen in you, but in his careful hand and in his perfect time. Don't rush things, God's timing in everything is perfect.

46 After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. 47 Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. 48 When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you.”
49 “Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?”[a] 50 But they did not understand what he was saying to them.
51 Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart. 52 And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
How many of you have ever been here before? In a spot where there is something you know you are being called to do, God wants and needs you to do but you know the people closest to you won't understand why you are doing it? In this moment in Luke Jesus is a teenager, and even though his parents know he is the son of God they still have earthly expectations of him, and he acts out of character in that space. But even though his parents didn't understand why he stayed behind and didn't stay with them like they expected him to, Jesus still made the choice to do what God was calling him to do. After Jesus explained to them, they understood.
There are so many times in our lives when God is going to call us to do something and to the outsider it's not going to make any sense. You friends might not understand your choice; your family might not understand your choice. But God understands. When God calls you to do something go! Even if it feels way outside what people think you should be doing.
James 1:12: "Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him"
What does it look like or feel like to be under trial? I feel like we all have experienced this in our life. Trials in school, trials on the field or off, trials with friends or family. These moments can wear you down and leave you feeling like there is no solution. God wants you to know that when you remain in him these trials are easier to face. When those who love him show that love during a trial it shines that light to everyone around them. Will it always be easy? No, it won't, but with God all things are possible, and all things have a solution.
Throughout the rest of this week seek God is the trials of your days. Let him show you how his steadfast love is there with you no matter what you face.
